ABOUT

This program has been started with the aim to promote high quality education in Civil Engineering keeping in pace with the current demands in this field. The curriculum in tune with the Anna University Regulations broadly covers besides the basic engineering subjects, subjects of related fields such as Surveying, Building materials & construction, Soil mechanics & Foundation engineering, Structural analysis & design, Hydraulics & Water resources engineering, Environmental engineering, Transportation and Coastal engineering. Shortly the department will be well equipped with laboratory facilities and highly qualified faculty members having rich experience in teaching and industrial background. The department will provide the right kind of environment for the students to groom themselves for taking up innovative and challenging projects in the near future. Lectures from experienced Structural Engineers, visits to construction sites, internships with leading corporates in the Infrastructural Industry are foreseen as additional inputs.

  • To design curriculum based on changing needs of stake holders and provide excellence in delivery and assessment to ensure holistic development of CIVIL ENGINEERING students

  • To enhance research and consultancy resulting in solving problems related to CIVIL ENGINEERING infrastructure as well as society at large

  • To mentor students in pursuit to higher education, entrepreneurship and global professionalism”

  • PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs) :

    ⦁ To prepare students for successful careers in Civil Engineering field that meets the needs of Indian and multinational companies.

    ⦁ To develop the confidence and ability among students to synthesize data and technical concepts and thereby apply it in real world problems.

    ⦁ To develop students to use modern techniques, skill and mathematical engineering tools for solving problems in Civil Engineering.

    ⦁ To provide students with a sound foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyse engineering problems and to prepare them for graduate studies.

    ⦁ To promote students to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary projects and make them engage in life-long learning process throughout their professional life.
